The Athletic: In 2018, Montreal’s Bennedict Mathurin became the first Canadian-born student-athlete to join the NBA Academy Latin America, an elite basketball training center in Mexico City comprising the top male and female prospects throughout the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, Central America and South America.
