NBA Academy’s slow defensive start picked up in the second quarter with a full-court man to man, which allowed them to get easy baskets and keep the lead. The team’s aggressiveness on offense brought them to the foul line.

Day 8 – Championship Game

The NBA Academy Africa won the first-ever Academy Games Championship Finals 74-51 against The NBA Global Academy. The NBA Academy Africa was led by Championship Game MVP Patrick Mwamba with 15 points and 14 rebounds and Keita Thierno Diongue who scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

Day 8 – Consolation Finals

The NBA Academy India won the NBA Academy Games Consolation Finals as they resisted a second half comeback in a 73-70 victory against The NBA Academy Zhejiang. The NBA Academy India had 4 players in double figures, including Mathew Sejn, who grabbed 7 rebounds and scored 17 points.

The NBA Global Academy sliced a 18 point first half deficit to 1 point in the 4th quarter, but could not defeat Australian Capital Territory Gunners Academy in a 82-78 loss. Gunners’ W. Mayfield led the game with 25 points and 7 rebounds and The NBA Global Academy’s Chikara Tamaka trailed behind with 23 points and 4 rebounds.
